Title: 35 traits from start on Greymane
Type: In-game
Description:
Just as many people have pointed out on Greymane announcement thread, I also think that "AP farming" should not be a thing on the new instant-PvP realm Greymane.
In Legion PvP, iLvl does not mean much since it's just 1% overall stats per 10ilvls. The most important thing for doing PvP is being trait-capped, that is to say, having 35 traits on weapon. Even if we are starting at 25 AK, we will have to farm insane amounts of AP in order to be competent on PvP since we will be playing against Sylvanas' players who already have 35+ traits and 880+ iLvl, so they will easily win every match against Greymane's players (and yes, you can get the first 20~ traits fast but after that, it's a long and boring process).
Legion is not like MoP, where you only needed decent gear/iLvl to play arenas. In Legion the "gear" is not based on iLvl but on traits, so the most logical decision would be giving us 35 traits and maybe lower iLvl so we could play PvP while we get higher iLvl items as arena/bg rewards and a small stats% buff with them.
The main goal of this new realm is doing PvP but if we start in Greymane with 25AK, 0 traits and 840iLvl, we would be at a great disadvantage compared to Sylvanas, because while we can only do PvP, they can gear up and get AP from PvE, which means they can be ready for PvP at lvl110 faster than the players who play on the PvP realm.
If you say that we can't start with 35 traits because then PvP would be boring, let me point you out something: the fun part about doing PvP is competing with other players, not farming AP, and we can't compete with other players if we don't have traits, so not giving 35 traits from start would be the decision that would make the PvP boring and based on farming AP before doing arenas.
If after creating a new character on Greymane I will have to farm AP up to level 35, what's the point of abandoning my Sylvanas' characters who are already well geared and have some traits? Personally, if I had to farm AP again, I would not play in Greymane.
To sum it up, I think the best decision would be giving us 35 traits from start so we can join, get to PvPing instantly and have fun without having to farm insane amounts of AP.
