  1. Hi ! Ok so since everything doesn't work as intended, for you my fellow mac users, here's how you can play here on Legion 7.3.5 : Download the whole game via Blizzard Launcher. The current game patch on retail is 7.3.5, so just let the Launcher do the job. The whole game is around 42GB. Open the game once, play the Blizzard Legion movie, until you reach the login page, then close it. This step allows the game to download the few missing required files to launch correctly. Download the Firestorm Launcher from the website : https://firestorm-servers.com/en/welcome/play and put it in your Applications. Inside the Firestorm Launcher archive you'll see the "Firestorm Launcher.app". If you can open it directly, go to Step 6. If you can't, go to Step 5. The Launcher might not work at first. You can have an error message saying the the file is fucked up and should be deleted (which is wrong, don't delete it), or you can also have a Launcher that tries to open but get stuck at "Download update". In both these situation, do as follow : Right click on "Firestorm Launcher.app" Show package content > Contents > MacOS > Firestorm Launcher (terminal file) This file is a Terminal script command. Open it, Terminal will start and read the comment, and the Firestorm Launcher will open without problem. You must always open your Firestorm Launcher this way. Thankfully, you can put the Terminal command directly in your dock, it'll work as a normal app, but you really have to use Terminal in order to open the Launcher. I don't know why, but hey, as long as it works... Now you have a full game from Blizzard, and a working Firestorm Launcher. Open the Firestorm Launcher, go to Legion, and under the giant blue button "Install" there's a little white link called "Already installed ?". Click it, select the folder where your game is installed, and let the Firestorm Launcher do his job. It'll set your game so that it can connect to Firestorm realms and everything working with it, and you can play. So remember : • Always use the Terminal command to open the Launcher. • Always use the Launcher to open the game. And of course, update your addons to 7.3.5 and all the shit Firestorm staff members already told you a million times. Have fun !
  2. Greetings people ! So as a Mac user I encountered many many problems while trying to install a working Legion client with a working Launcher, but I finally achieved it so I wanted to share my solution for my fellow mac users. There are 2 ways to install Legion on a mac via Firestorm, both require a working Launcher. How to install the Launcher [MAC] Download the said Launcher on website. If the Launcher works normally from here, do not go to next step. For some people, this will appear and stay indefinitely, Launcher will never open : In this case : Right click on FirestormLauncher.app Click "Show Package Content" Go to Contents > MacOS > FirestormLauncher. This file is a Unix executable, just open it, and it will open the Launcher without problem using Terminal. This is normal, do not close Terminal. When you close the Launcher, you can then close Terminal. For information, you can put the Terminal path directly in your dock, it will open Terminal and Launcher as usual. From this point, you have a working Launcher. You can now install WoW Legion for Mac, and you have 2 ways to do so : How to install WoW Legion [MAC - Launcher required for both solutions] Launcher download : just ask the Launcher to install the Legion game. You'll be able to play while the Launcher downloads the game, it will be long and painful until you have a complete game, but you just have to play. Problem is, you'll often encounter situations when you'll have to wait for the game to download specific zone / spells / textures / actions / ... before being able to do anything. Gotta be patient, but you don't have to worry about anything. Torrent download : this is the tricky part but when done correctly everything work like a charm (I recommend this way) Download the Firestorm torrent from website (yes, it's for PC, but we don't care, and we won't use Wine or other fucking emulator) Download this Mac Client (English). When your downloads are done, open the Mac client folder you just downloaded. You'll find 3 files inside : just drag them in your Firestorm WoW Folder (the torrent). You're gonna be asked if you want to replace the already existing files in your torrent folder : simply accept it. Now if you try to launch the World of Warcraft.app, normally this will appear : This message basically says "the installed mac client is damaged and you should delete it". DO NOT DELETE THE CLIENT, just cancel the message. Open your Launcher (the way I described earlier), go to Legion, and click on "Already installed" just below the big Download button. Select your WoW Folder (the torrent folder with the mac client) : from this point, the Launcher will do his launching stuff and tada, Legion 7.1.5 opens and is 100% working. As I said, I really recommend you to use the torrent download to install the game. Launcher download can be appealing, but is a pain in the ass to complete. Always use your FirestormLauncher Terminal path to open the Launcher, and always open the game client from the Launcher. I know it's a weird solution, but well, it's a working one. Enjoy !
  3. Hey guys, So I'm having an issue here. I've just downloaded 40.5 gb Legion torrent, and I've also downloaded the Firestorm Launcher and I've been able to open the launcher and been able to go to the Legion tab and click the 'Already installed' option which lets me choose the Legion Torrent folder that contains my game client. When I click 'play' the client launches but it is stuck at Connecting. So I put my launcher files into my Legion Torrent folder but whenever I attempt to open the launcher, it downloads the base game files again and I'm unable to click the 'Already Installed' option. So I've patiently waited for the base game to download so I can uninstall it again. It worked, the "already installed?" option shows up and I click it but it will not launch the game. Hope someone is able to help me.
  4. Hi, I know that launcher isn't supported now, but does anyone have a link for launcher for Mac? I've found some for Windows, but I need one for Mac. TY
  5. I would like to know exactly what the changes are made to make my retail client work with this private server. In the old days it was just a realm address you needed to change. I don't know if the Mac client is a port of the PC client or is it PC software in a Mac shell? Also I would like to know if files from WIndows Firestorm can be copied into the Mac version. I think only the following files are affected: WoW.mfil and Config.wtf. Added is Firestorm.wtf Can a developer put some light on this?
  6. The client on my Mac runs very, very slow. Content is playable but slow to load. No issues with addons. The Legion client will appear to quit and close successfully (all windows close) but it remains open and I have to Fore-Quit the application. The Firestorm Launcher will not load at all - it launches but no window ever appears. I've left it open, hoping it was just loading and configuring for first run - but it never does. I have to Force-Quit that application as well. The WotLK client runs just fine - very playable and content loads very quickly. Hope that the Legion client gets tweaked a little to improve its running. But I am sticking with WotLK for now. macOS 10.12.1 Sierra 2.7 GHz Intel Quad core i5 16 GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB <-- go ahead and hit me on that one!
  7. Hello, Mac user here. i have this problem when i try to open the game. Can anyone help me to resolve it? thanks in advance Here is the problem: Senza titolo.tiff
  8. Hi all, my guildmates recently choose to start playing on the Firestorm realms, so we try to access the game by the Firestorm Launcher. However i've a great issue whit that: after downloading the launcher on my Mac, after a while the updating process stops and the Launcher itself crashes. I've tried to copy in different folders and downloading several times, but the result won't change: every time the update apparently "ends", the launcher crashes and is not possible to reopen it in any way. This happens also on another Mac with recent and updated OS version (10.12.x), preventing some of us to play at all. What can we do to solve the problem? Hoping for a useful answer, wish you all a good time.
  9. I have been playing on Taran'Zhu on MoP and tried to download a few addons, I know they are usually located in the bottom left of your character screen but are not appearing there. Help?
  10. I got a MacBook Pro and I'm trying to Install WoW Firestorm server. The Launcher download went good, but I found a problem once I tried to Open it and Install it. It tells me "FirestormLauncher has been unexpectedly quit" and it says so whenever I try to open it again. Does Firestorm Launcher even works on Mac? If yes, how can I do to solve this?
  11. Hello, I've downloaded firestorm launcher. But the download is really slow. It takes more than 5 minutes to load a map, and I don't even see the mobs.. and I've stay in the same place for 30 minutes or more. Someone told me to download Blizzard's WOW, and then patch it with the launcher .. But well, they are in 7.0.3, I downloaded the full game (40gbs..) and It did not work. What can I do?
  12. 13. Hi Want to play on Firestorm with Mac? Are you wondering where Mac launcher is? Well then this is one alternative for you, until FS comes up with Mac launcher. I am not Mac user, so I can't go into details on how to do this. I already posted this before when Mac launcher did not exist. So I will repost it, in case it helps anyone. But first, a warning. This is unofficial way of connecting with Mac. I know of it, because people had problems with Mac clients and lack of proper Mac launcher since Cataclysm. I did not test this and I don't have Mac. I only post it as it is, in hopes that it will help any Mac user. Also, I only provide this guide from my experiences. Use any links, files and steps in this guide at your own responsibility. I can't guarantee it will work for everyone, I provide it as it is and it works for some people. I have no chance to test it myself. I am not part of FireStorm staff, I am not associated with Blizzard, I also am not associated with any related organizations, so I can only do what I can with what I have. Now back to guide. Since there is no Mac launcher, only way to play is with Windows client. This can be achieved in two ways. Fist one is to use program like WineSkin Or WineBottler which allows you to run Windows applications on Mac, including WoW, by putting them in wrapper. Alternatively, you can also install Windows on your Mac, for that, you even don't have to remove MacOS, you only need to sacrafice part of your hard drive to hold Windows and WoW. Then you can easily switch between Windows and MacOS. Also you don't have to do both, just choose one and go to either chapter 1 or 2. No need to do both. 1. WineSkin/WineBottler To run Windows client on Mac, you will need Wineskin or WineBottler. You can grab them here here: http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php http://darwine-winebottler.en.softonic.com/mac I don't know how exactly it is suppose to work, so you will have to help yourself here. Only grab one, you won't need other one. After you got Wineskin up, just obtain Windows client, here is my guide for that: http://us.forum.firestorm-servers.com/index.php?/topic/648-how-to-play-without-firstorm-launcher-how-to-get-full-client-guide-for-all-expansions-by-mistix/ And follow it, to set it up and run it without FS launcher. Before running WoW, open WTF folder and in it open "Config.wtf" in Notepad equivalent on Mac. Same way as you did for realmlist line. And at the end, add this line: SET gxApi "opengl" And save. Now simply run "Pandashan.exe" in WoW folder and log in with username you registered on Pandashan. 2. Installing Windows on Mac(preserves old MacOS as it was) This guide was copied and translated from old Pandashan, made by Isilis. It is translated via Google Translate with few fixes. I apologize for lower quality. I just provide it as it is: Hello everyone, I created this tutorial, since launcher for Macintosh does not exist, so that you can join us with your mac. First, you must have a USB key, 4GB minimum, an Intel Mac, and of course a Windows activation key. Before we begin, I want to point out that you should not worry about installing Windows on your Mac. Even if something goes wrong on Windows partition, it won't effect your MacOS partition. This partition remains as single virtual disk! Installing BootCamp Visit your launchpad, go to Tools and click on the BootCamp software. Once the application is open, you will see this: Click Continue to create your partition. At this step, insert your USB key in USB port, to create a flash drive which will allow you to install Windows (you can do it on a DVD too, if you want to). WARNING: Do not forget to install the drivers, they are offered to you through this step. This way, you won't have to search for drivers after installation. After setting up the flash drive with Windows and drivers, you should choose partition size you will give to your Windows hard drive. Confirm and wait while both partitions are done. Once this step is completed, we will move to the installation of Windows by clicking "Start Installation" WARNING: Whatever happens, do not remove your USB key. Even after restart, do not remove it. Installing Windows Choose your language: Install Windows: Insert your Windows key or choose to install it later: Choose custom installation. After that, locate the Boot Camp partition you created, click and select "format". What to do if you only had one partition before and that it is not big enough: Now Windows installation will start, your siystem might restart few times. Once the installation is complete, install the drivers you downloaded earlier with Boot Camp. Firestorm Installation Once all these steps are completed, you just have to get WoW client. For that, please visit our homepage: http://firestorm-servers.com/ Everything is explained there. Now, to return Leopard or Windows. Simply hold the ALT key (?) key during startup and select operating system you want to run: Uninstalling To uninstall Boot Camp is simple. Return to disk where you have MacOS. Open BootCamp and click "delete partition". ------------------------------------------- Alternatively you can use my other guide to get full client and use it without launcher: Also if you want to install Windows 8 or 10 via BootCamp, I think both should work, but again, I did not try it. ------------------------------------------ I apologize for lower quality of this guide. But since I never used Macs, I can't really give you more detailed steps. Still I hope some people would find this helpful. Feel free to give any feedback or any more detailed step by step explanations or point out any mistakes in this guide. Any feedback is welcome.
